International dialogues on migration

In addition to its many bilateral migration dialogues with other countries, Switzerland also participates actively in dialogues at a multilateral level. These dialogues bring together representatives of different countries in formal and informal committees, building bridges between the countries of origin, transit and destination.

Switzerland is particularly involved in the discussions on migration and development under the aegis of the United Nations and also in the more informal Global Forum on Migration and Development (GFMD). In addition, Switzerland is a member of the Intergovernmental Consultations on Migration, Asylum and Refugees (IGC), an exchange forum between like-minded nations, and also the General Directors of Immigration Services Conference (GDISC), an informal network of European asylum and migration agencies.
